Valentine's week and President's Day weekend bring some crowds, but generally manageable.
Spring break season ramps up mid-month. Watch out for school breaks.

Late AprilβMay is a sweet spot. Schools in session, weather is warm, crowds are lighter.
Summer begins. Crowds build fast as school lets out across the country.

Post-Labor Day is a hidden gem. Halloween season starts late September with Oogie Boogie Bash.

Thanksgiving week is one of the most crowded periods. Early November is quieter.
Holiday magic is stunning, but crowds are intense β especially Dec. 26βJan. 1.
Disney California Adventure's separately-ticketed Halloween party runs select nights in September and October. Includes special character meets, trick-or-treating, and exclusive entertainment. Tickets sell out fast β book as early as possible.
From early November through early January, the resort transforms with holiday dΓ©cor, seasonal overlays on beloved attractions, and the beloved Candlelight Processional. Stunning, but plan around high crowds.
2025 marks Disneyland's 70th anniversary, bringing special entertainment, new attractions, and exclusive experiences. The celebration continues into 2026 β an incredible time to visit.

Start in Disney California Adventure. DCA tends to be less crowded at rope drop. Knock out Radiator Springs Racers or Guardians early, then head to Disneyland once lines build there.
Rise of the Resistance is worth the Single Pass. It's one of the best theme park experiences anywhere in the world. The wait on a busy day can exceed 90 minutes.
Use the Disneyland app from the moment you enter. Book your first Lightning Lane selection immediately. You can make your next selection as soon as you scan in β make the most of every minute.
Stay on-property if it fits your budget. The Grand Californian's private DCA entrance alone can save 15β20 minutes of walking per park trip β and that complimentary Lightning Lane entry is a real perk over multi-day stays.
Galaxy's Edge is magical at night. The land comes to life after dark with glowing lights and projection shows on the spires. If you visit during the day, plan a return after sunset.
Weekdays beat weekends β always. If you have any flexibility, visiting Tuesday through Thursday makes a noticeable difference. Local Southern California residents crowd the parks on weekends year-round.
Park reservations are required. Even with a valid ticket, you must also have a park reservation for each day. Book as soon as you purchase your tickets β availability, especially on peak days, can be limited.
