✨ Plan My Disneyland Trip

Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California is where Walt Disney's dream began in 1955 β€” and today it's home to two amazing theme parks, three Disney-owned resort hotels, the Downtown Disney District, and over 50 Good Neighbor Hotels nearby. Whether it's your first time or your fifteenth, this guide will help you make the most of every magical minute.

  • The Golden Horseshoe (Where Walt & Lillian Disney celebrated 30 years)
Disney California Adventure

Disney California Adventure

  • Incredicoaster (Pixar Pier)
  • WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure

Lightning Lane Explained

Disney's paid line-skip system gives you three options depending on your budget and how you want to spend your day. Every ride still has a free standby queue β€” Lightning Lane is completely optional, but can save significant time on busy days.

LLMP

Lightning Lane Multi Pass

Book arrival windows one at a time for included attractions at both parks. After scanning in, you can immediately book your next selection. Includes photo downloads.

LLSP

Lightning Lane Single Pass

Purchased separately for the highest-demand rides not in the Multi Pass. At Disneyland: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. At DCA: Radiator Springs Racers. Up to 2 per day.

LLPP

Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Covers all Multi Pass AND Single Pass attractions at both parks, all day, no return windows needed. Just walk up and ride. Limited availability β€” purchase up to 2 days in advance.

πŸ’‘ Key Disneyland Lightning Lane Differences vs. Walt Disney World

  • At Disneyland, one Multi Pass purchase covers both parks (DCA included)
  • Multi Pass selections can only be made after entering a park on the day of your visit
  • Premier Pass covers both parks in a single purchase β€” great value vs. WDW
  • Hotel guests receive one complimentary Multi Pass Lightning Lane use per stay
  • Rise of the Resistance is the top Single Pass ride β€” book it the moment you enter
  • Popular rides like Indiana Jones & Radiator Springs Racers sell out fast β€” plan early

8 Pro Tips for Disneyland

1

Book dining reservations 60 days out. Blue Bayou and Napa Rose fill up within hours of the booking window opening. Set an alarm, open the Disneyland app at 6 AM Pacific, and book the moment you can.

2

Start in Disney California Adventure. DCA tends to be less crowded at rope drop. Knock out Radiator Springs Racers or Guardians early, then head to Disneyland once lines build there.

3

Rise of the Resistance is worth the Single Pass. It's one of the best theme park experiences anywhere in the world. The wait on a busy day can exceed 90 minutes.

4

Use the Disneyland app from the moment you enter. Book your first Lightning Lane selection immediately. You can make your next selection as soon as you scan in β€” make the most of every minute.

5

Stay on-property if it fits your budget. The Grand Californian's private DCA entrance alone can save 15–20 minutes of walking per park trip β€” and that complimentary Lightning Lane entry is a real perk over multi-day stays.

6

Galaxy's Edge is magical at night. The land comes to life after dark with glowing lights and projection shows on the spires. If you visit during the day, plan a return after sunset.

7

Weekdays beat weekends β€” always. If you have any flexibility, visiting Tuesday through Thursday makes a noticeable difference. Local Southern California residents crowd the parks on weekends year-round.

8

Park reservations are required. Even with a valid ticket, you must also have a park reservation for each day. Book as soon as you purchase your tickets β€” availability, especially on peak days, can be limited.
